Sara Anne Dunn

June 17, 1942 — October 2, 2016

Mrs. Sara Anne Dunn, 74, of Cumming, GA, died at home Sunday of natural causes. She was the widow of the late Kenneth Franklin Dunn, to whom she was wed over fifty-three years. Together, they were parents to four children, Mr. Joseph Dewayne Dunn of Marietta, GA, Mr. Kenneth Franklin Dunn, Jr of Belmont, NC, and two daughters lost in infancy, Stephanie and Susan.

In addition to her sons, Sara is survived by her sister, Carolyn Meeks of Barnesville, GA, and her grandson, Colby Spencer Dunn of Belmont, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Moore, and by her parents Agnes Spivey Moore and Shellie B. Moore.

At her country home, Sara was an avid wild animal watcher. She and Ken fed almost any animal that happened by, including migratory birds, a menagerie of dogs through the years, squirrels looking for an easy living, deer hiding during hunting season, and even mice that once invaded the family car. Sara also kept pet cats, providing love, food, shelter, and a place to watch the wildlife with her, albeit from windowsills, spoiling their desires to hunt below the bird feeders that tempted them so.

Sara was a strident believer in the Gospels and teachings of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. This faith greatly filled her days, and consoled her since her husband’s passing with a promise that they would be reunited. That day has come, and while we mourn her loss to us, we are gladdened that Sara mourns no more.
