Scott Haney

Mr. Scott Haney, age 77, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, August 5, 2019.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on August 19, 1941, a son of the late Otis Clifton Haney and the late Mary Nancy Beatty Haney. Mr. Haney lived all of his life in Rockmart where was self employed in the insulation business. He had a love for farming, horses and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Nickey Dodd; grandson, Robbie Dodd; two brothers: David Haney and Jimmy Michael Haney; and two sisters: Alice Williams and Evelyn Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Sparks Haney of Rockmart to whom he was married in February of 2003; children: Jenae Haney Jordan, Rockmart, Thomas Daniel Haney, Rockmart, Nicolette Dodd, Rockmart and Angie Wyatt and her husband Eddie, Villa Rica; grandchildren: Matthew Lee, Susan Jordan, Skyla Haney, Levi Wyatt, Katie Voyles and Ashleigh Thompson; seven great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Violet Stegall; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Wyatt and Rev. Levi Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites provided by the Shanklin-Attaway Post # 5 honor guard.

Pallbearers will include: John Haney, Scotty Haney, Robert Upton, Freddie Young, Bobby Carlton, Bobby Sparks, Charles Dyer, Brad Carlton and Clay Beatty.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
