Shirley Ezell Browning Moody

Mrs. Shirley Ezell Browning Moody, age 84, of Rockmart (the Yorkville community) passed away Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Austell, GA.

She was born in Carroll County, GA on August 10, 1935 a daughter of the late Roy Carroll and the late Estelle Sudduth Carroll. Mrs. Moody lived for a number of years in the Winston, GA community before moving to the Yorkville community in 1972. She was a member of the Yorkville Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Winn Dixie. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Browning; second husband Ray Moody; daughter, Judy Browning; and by two sisters: Mildred Cohran and Dot Bennett.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelia Miller and her husband Stephen, Douglasville; son, Eddie Browning and wife Wanda, Buchanan; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and three sisters: Sue Hunter, Rockmart (the Beulah community), Janice Miller, Winston and Gail Weaver, Villa Rica.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Don Rackley and Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Donald Bagley, Chadwick Miller, Jack Deese, Jeremy Ward, Mitchell Ward and Raymond Moody.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
