Tangie Brookshire

Mrs. Tangie Kay Brookshire, age 40, of 187 Bellview Road, Rockmart passed away Monday March 9, 2009 at her residence following a four year illness.


Tangie was born in Rockmart on June 28,1968 a daughter of Jerry Davis and Carolyn Godfrey Davis. She had lived all of her life here in Rockmart where she was a 1986 graduate of Rockmart High School. Tangie was a member of the Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and was active in WMU. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Jerry Davis, and by grandparents John and Flora Davis and Fred and Sarah Godfrey.


Survivors include her husband, Chuck Brookshire to whom she was married on September 26, 1986; two daughters: Kaylie Elyse Brookshire and Laycie Davis Brookshire all of Rockmart; mother and father, Carolyn and Jere White, Rockmart; six sisters: Lynn Korson, Rockmart, Elyse Cochran, Gastonia, N.C., Leigh Caffrey, Hiram, Dixie Davis, Rockmart, Holly Lanier, Taylorsville and Whitney Gulledge, Rockmart; thirteen nieces and nephews and a number of aunts and uncles also survive.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.


Active pallbearers will include: David Lipham, David Britton, Elvis Britton, Mike Gordon, Victor Roebuck, Cole Cochran, Ron Clark and Charles Whisenant. Honorary pallbearers will include: Hunter and Hayden Siniard, Slade Sewell, Connor Caffrey and Dylan Brookshire.


The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
