Virginia Arp Dover

Mrs. Virginia Arp Dover, age 75, of Rockmart passed away Monday evening, May 6, 2013 in a Rome Medical Center following several years of illness.

She was born in Coweta County, GA on March 14, 1938 a daughter of the late Ezra Bivins and Effie Lou Akins Bivins. Mrs. Dover lived in Bremen before moving to Rockmart thirty eight years ago. She had worked for the Sewell Manufacturing Company and Hubbard Clothing Company both of Bremen before becoming an insurance agent. Mrs. Dover had worked for the National Motor Club and Travelers Insurance Company. One of her favorite activities was fishing.

Mrs. Dover was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Piccione and a grandson Sammy Arp.

Survivors include her husband, George Dover of Rockmart to whom she was married on November 30, 1990; three sons: Sam Arp, Aragon, David Arp and wife Kathy, Cedartown , Wayne Arp and wife Deidra, Rockmart; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Brewer and Rev. Michael Head officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Allen Prince, Grady Boggs, James Crews, Whitt Dunn, Dusty Cole and Chip Gober.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
