Virginia Millhollan Greeson

Mrs. Virginia Millhollan Greeson, age 75, of 221 New Prospect Road, Aragon, GA passed away Monday November 1, 2010 in a Rome Medical Center.


She was born in Aragon, GA on June 26, 1935 a daughter of the late Bud Millhollan and Louise Morgan Millhollan. Mrs. Greeson had lived all of her life in the Aragon area where she was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church. She had previously worked for Battey State Hospital, Lockheed Aircraft of Marietta and retired from the Sara Hightower Library of Rome. Mrs. Greeson graduated from Rockmart High School and attended Floyd College. She was an avid reader who loved politics and current events. She loved the beach and collecting lighthouses.


Survivors include her husband, Mr. Billy Greeson of Aragon to whom she was married on August 19, 1961; daughters: Debbie Scoggins and husband Dewayne, Silver Creek, GA and Julie Steele and husband Dan, Xenia, OH; grandchildren: Amber Steele and husband Greg, Bethel Park, PA, Alex Steele and wife Heather, McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, Adam Steele, Xenia, OH and Josh Scoggins, Marietta, GA; great grandchildren: Caleb and Megan Steele, Bethel park, PA; sisters: Eloise Taylor, Aragon, GA and Dot Kent and husband, Jim, Silver Creek, GA.


Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Moore and Rev. Dewey Atchley officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Dewayne Scoggins, Dan Steele, Greg Steele, Alex Steele, Adam Steele and Josh Scoggins. Honorary pallbearers will include: Harry Sutton and Gerald Lee.


The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Virginia Millhollan Greeson.
