Wayne Leggett

.Mr. Wayne Leggett, age 80, of Cedartown, GA passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 in a Rome medical center.

Wayne was born in Dallas, GA on October 9, 1938 a son of the late Hugh Dorsey Leggett and the late Audie Mae Caldwell Leggett. He had lived the greater part of his life in the Dallas and Yorkville, GA area moving to Cedartown in 2018. He attended Calvary Baptist Church of Rockmart. Mr. Leggett was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Special Forces stationed out of Ft. Bragg, NC from 1961 to 1963 .He was a former employee of the Lakewood General Motors Assembly Plant and for the past forty years had owned and operated General Cabinets. Wayne was an avid race car enthusiast having built cars and was also a driver. He enjoyed spending time with friends and loved his dog "Shorty".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Calvert Leggett; by a brother, Jimmy Leggett and by a sister, Nancy Morris.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Leggett, Cedartown; two sons: Mitch Leggett, Jacksonville, FL and George Bonds, Cedartown; daughter, Melinda Short (Shane Hester), Cedartown; two grandchildren: Allyson Deaton (Tyler), Cedartown and Amanda Penny (Jarrod Thornton), Cedartown; four great grandchildren: Easton, Landon, Hunter and Steven also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Levi Wyatt and Rev. Charles Dyer officiating.

The family will receive Wednesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Wayne Leggett.
