William Gerald Mixon

Mr. William Gerald Mixon, age 80, of Aragon, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

Mr. Mixon was born on May 24, 1941 in Jacksonville, FL to his parents: James Carol Mixon and Reba Pauline Hudson Mixon. William spent the greater part of his life in Polk County. Mr. Mixon was retired from Goodyear and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church and loved to study his Bible. He also enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and bowling. Gerald was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Mixon is survived by his loving daughters: Donna Dutton (Steve) of Aragon, GA, Susan Ingle (Lamar) of Aragon, GA, and Kim Avant of Cedartown, GA, 3 grandchildren: Sherry Spinks, Kevin (Amy) Dutton and Casey (Evan) Williams, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Clark Mixon of Jacksonville, FL, and Jimmy Mixon of Jacksonville, FL, 2 sisters: Marsine Clark of Jacksonville, FL, and Doris Reeves of Jacksonville, FL, as well as a number of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. William Gerald Mixon will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM in The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Dutton officiating. Interment will follow the service at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Lamar Ingle, Evan Williams, Kevin Dutton, Landon Dutton, Reese Spencer and Trevor Spinks.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 1:00 PM until the service hour at 2:00 PM.
