Ruth “Aletha” Strange, age 88, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 26, 2026.

Aletha was born on September 8, 1938, in Aragon, Georgia, to the late Julian and Clara Mae McBryde. She attended Tift College and, on November 2, 1957, married her late husband, Jimmy Strange.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Strange found joy and purpose in caring for others. She worked as a paraprofessional at Aragon School. She later served as a social and activities coordinator at Rockmart Nursing Home, where her caring nature and warm spirit touched many lives.

Aletha enjoyed cooking, reading, and journaling, but her greatest joy was her family. She devoted the majority of her life to caring for those she loved, leaving a lasting legacy of love and devotion that extended across three generations of her family.

Mrs. Strange will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to her family, and the love she so freely gave to others. Her memory will live on in the stories she shared and the love and wisdom she poured into those she cared for most.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Clara Mae McBryde, and her husband, Jimmy Strange.

Aletha is survived by her two children Jeff Strange (Crystal) and Donna Robinson (Neil). Surviving grandchildren are Christopher Strange (Nikki), Jason Strange (Jennifer), Oakley Strange, Creelan Strange and Kayla Hatch Hall (Jarred). Many great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Strange will be laid to rest in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery where the family will hold a private funeral service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Family Hospice and The Cottages of Rockmart. Their care and kindness meant the world to Mrs. Strange and her family and will never be forgotten.
