Angie Shurley

Mrs. Angie Shurley, age 53, of Rockmart, GA passed away on Wednesday morning, October 22, 2025.

Angie was born on May 3, 1972, to the late Roger Dale Campbell and the late Judy Ann Leatherwood Campbell. A lifelong resident of Rockmart, GA, she was deeply rooted in her community and dedicated her life to public service.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Shorter College and began her career in law enforcement shortly thereafter. Angie served with honor and distinction, first with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department for four years, followed by 22 years with the Polk County Police Department. Her commitment, courage, and compassion touched the lives of many.

More than her professional accomplishments, Angie will be remembered for her faith. She was saved and lived her life grounded in her Baptist faith. Angie loved attending concerts, dancing, and making people laugh. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially cherishing every moment with her two grandsons.

In addition to her parents, Angie is preceded in death by her husband, Andy Shurley.

Angie is survived by her son, Mason (Rebecca) Barnette; 2 stepsons, Will and Adam Shurley; 2 grandchildren, Ezra and Elijah Barnette; her sister, Amy Cochran; stepmother, Carol Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Angie will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Jack Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery in Cedartown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 pm until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Mark Hammonds, Jason Stringer, Daulton Swindall, Christopher Rakestraw, Gage Rogers, Joe Dyer, and Dematrius Irvin.
