Annie Elizabeth Williams

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Ballew Williams, age 89, of 101 Brackett Hill Road, Rockmart passed away Saturday, March 29th in a Rome Medical Center following a brief illness.


A native of Carroll county, GA she was born on July 31, 1918 a daughter of Green Williams Duke and Lucy Duke. Mrs. Williams had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart , was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Goodyear Mill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Earnest Ballew and Robert Williams, Sr., by a daughter, Estelle Sumlar and by two brothers and three sisters.


Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Joyce Streetman and Mrs. Patricia Pope both of Rockmart; three sons: Mr. Earnest Ballew, Jr., Lilburn, GA, Mr. Jerry Ballew, Rockmart and Mr. Ronald Ballew of Alabama; two half brothers: Mr. Jimmy Duke, Aragon and Mr. Buster Duke of Alabama; 25 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Michael Streetman, Mickey Pope, Dale Ballew, Keith Gibson, Ron Ballew and Bobby Williams. Honorary pallbearers will include: Chad Carlton, Rick Stone and Tyler Pope.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
