Annie Ruth Owens

Mrs. Annie Ruth Owens, age 84, of Rockmart, GA, went to be with Jesus Saturday, April 19, 2025.

Mrs. Owens was born February 2,1941, to parents Chester Akins and Francis Lewis. She is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Owens, and brother, Sonnie Akins, also two great-granddaughters, Madison Swann and Elizabeth Owens.

Mrs. Owens is survived by a sister, Dorthy Pendergrass, and a brother, Gene Akins; children, Gary, Carey and Lori Owens, as well as several grandchildren and also great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Owens lived her life in Polk County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She opened her doors to many people over the years. She loved to care for others and help anyone she could. Mrs. Owens was a kind woman, but she would put you in your place if needed. She loved Jesus, she loved her kids and great-grandkids. She liked to listen to Alan Jackson and loved to cook. Mrs. Owens liked to watch wrestling and get a little rowdy. But most of all she loved to care for people. She will be missed by so many.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Fuller and Rev. Steve Arrington officiating. Interment will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Matthew Owens, Camden Owens, Chad Owens, Josh Owens, Johnny Swann, and Dylan Pinkard.

Honorary pallbearers will include Edward Holcomb, Nick Edwards, John Edwards, Labron Jenkins, and Kenny Gamel
