Barbara Ann McCown Mooney

Mrs. Barbara Ann McCown Mooney, age 90, of Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday evening, December 19, 2024 in Denton, TX.

Barbara was born in Rockmart, on December 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Joel L. McCown and Julia White McCown. She lived all of her life in Rockmart and was a member of the True Fellowship Nondenominational Church. Barbara had a great love for her family and will be greatly missed by them all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Williams "Jim" Mooney; sisters, Joyce Waters and Sue Ferguson; and brother, William McCown.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Joanne Hutchins; grandson, Christopher Hutchins; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mooney will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
