Mr. Barron Steve White, age 73, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, September 30, 2025.
Mr. White was born on October 30, 1951, in Rome, GA to the late Walter Elmer White and Annette Brewer White. Steve was a 1969 graduate of Columbus High School and later completed his education at Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction.
After college, he moved back to Georgia, where he spent the greater part of his life in Cobb County. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and had many hobbies over the years including motorcycling, bike riding, camping, and cars, but most of all, he enjoyed woodworking. Steve poured his creativity and skill into each handcrafted piece he made. More than all of that, Steve had a deep love for his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished time spent with loved ones.
Steve retired from a successful career in construction, where he took great pride in his work. Over the years, he contributed to the building of several well-known structures across the Southeast, leaving behind a legacy not only in physical structures but also in the lives he touched while working on them. Some of his projects included Mercedes Benz Stadium, Fort Hood Barracks, Fort Benning Dining Facility, Fort Stewart Headquarters, FBI Denver Headquarters, High Museum of Art, Red Bird Stadium in Tennessee, and the Federal Reserve Bank-Atlanta.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Annie.
Steve is survived by his two daughters, Heather Beames and Kelly Owen and her husband, Abe; 5 grandchildren, Cassidy Beames, Elle Owen, Lily Kate Owen, Brinkley Owen, and Blaze Owen; and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Funeral services for Mr. White will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with eulogies given by Mr. Keith Logue and his daughters, Heather Beames and Kelly Owen. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the service hour.
Honorary Pallbearers will include Lee Pierson, Len Smith, Steve Stewart, Keith Logue, Abe Owen, and Tom Owen.
The family will be accepting flowers, however, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in Steve’s memory.
