Bernice Sutton

Mrs. Bernice Sutton, age 97, of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in a Cobb County nursing center.

She was born in Bartow County, GA on September 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Lewis Freeman Edwards and the late Jane Bryson Edwards. Mrs. Sutton had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God and was a retired employee of Polk School District. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Sutton; six brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Morgan and Rev. Michael S. Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Jimmy Ward, Shane Ward, Jeff Covington, Len Covington, Douglas Edwards and Houston Edwards.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
