Betty Jean Sansom Robinson

Mrs. Betty Jean Sansom Robinson, age 92, formerly of Rockmart, GA, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Valdosta, GA.


Mrs. Robinson was born in Rome, GA, on May 6, 1931, daughter of the late Clyde Sansom and Irene Moss Sansom. She was a loving and giving person who was an avid Bible student. To her younger sister, she was much more than a Big Sister, she was a guiding light. Mrs. Robinson was a resident of Rockmart and Rome with many friends. She and her husband later moved to Macon, GA, following his career. In 1979, the love of her life and husband, Olin B. “Red” Robinson, passed away. Mrs. Robinson continued to maintain her residence with friends in Macon but later moved to Valdosta to be close to family.


In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by an infant son, Ted Olin Robinson and two brothers, Clyde B. Sansom and Carl Edward Sansom.


Mrs. Robinson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Morgan Robinson of Pensacola, FL, and Barry and Betty Robinson of Valdosta: three sisters, Faye Hicks of Rome, Carolyn Avery of Foley, AL, and Joann Roberts of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Thomas Robinson of Valdosta, Lauren Robinson of Hahira, GA, Rebecca Hanley of Macon, and Amanda Coughenour of Forsyth, GA, and several great-grandchildren.


Interment services for Mrs. Robinson were held in the family plot of Rose Hill Cemetery, Rockmart.


Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty Jean Sansom Robinson.
