Betty L. Sanders

Mrs. Betty L. Sanders, age 85, of 212 White River Road, Aragon, GA passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Cartersville Medical Center following a brief illness.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 19, 1924 a daughter of the late Frank and Lulu Graves. Mrs. Sanders had been a resident of Rockmart since 1953 moving here from Akron, Ohio. She was a member of the Rockmart First Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Goodyear Mill.

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by two sons: William (Billy) Lucas and James (Jim) Lucas.

Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Vicki Stock, San Marcos, California and Mrs. Pam Worthington, Cartersville; daughter in law, Carol Lucas, Rockmart; three grandchildren: Jeff Lucas, Mike Lucas and Kellie Butler; four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor, Rev. Greg Thompson and Rev. David Warriner officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Chad Teal, Daniel Stock, Nixon Argueta, Jimmy Hughes, Steve Turner and Jerry McDonald.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
