Mrs. Bobbie Jean Sorrells, age 89, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, May 4, 2026.
Mrs. Sorrells was born February 1, 1937, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Brumbelow and the late Pearl Vinson Brumbelow. She was a lifelong resident of Rockmart and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Bobbie enjoyed yard sales and shopping, dining out, and working on puzzle books. She was an avid fan of Braves baseball and rarely missed watching a game. Above all, she cherished her family and was truly the rock and heart of it. It could be said that her greatest love in life was her family.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sam J. Sorrells; her brothers, Danny Brumbelow and James Brumbelow; her brothers-in-law, Bobby Deaton and Earl Deaton; and a great-grandson, Ryan Sorrells.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Vickie Gable (David) of Rockmart; her son, Greg Sorrells (Deborah) of Rockmart; her granddaughter, Shannon Sorrells of Rockmart, her sisters, Joyce Deaton and Patsey Deaton of Aragon; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Brumbelow and Sandra Brumbelow. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sorrells will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Corey Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
Pallbearers will include Glenn Sorrells, Denny Sorrells, Ricky Sorrells, Darrell Sorrells, David Gable, and Jamie Brumbelow.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Cottage and Family Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to their mom.
Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Bobbie Jean Sorrells.
