Bobby Sprayberry

Jul 24, 1958 — Sep 30, 2026

Bobby Lee Sprayberry, age 78, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Born July 24, 1948, in Ben Hill, Georgia, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Sprayberry Jr. and Ella Christine Earwood Sprayberry.

Bobby proudly served his community as a City of Atlanta police officer until 1993, retiring after 19 years of faithful service.

He was an enthusiastic coin and gun collector and had a special love for his BMWs. Anyone who rode with Bobby knew he really liked to drive - and sometimes just a little too fast. His family will always remember that and smile. Bobby didn't always say a lot, but those closest to him never had to wonder how deeply he cared. He showed it by providing for and protecting his family.

Bobby especially adored his family. He and his precious wife, Mary Alice Lee Sprayberry, shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love that will carry on for generations.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife Mary Alice; his children, Tina Sprayberry Hilderbrand (Scott), Willie Lee Sprayberry III, and Shaylee Renee Sprayberry (Dalton Kurrle); his siblings, William John Sprayberry (Linda), Brenda Christine Carroll (James), Linda Jo Sprayberry, Brenda Suzette Sprayberry, Susan Odessa Carroll (Wayne), and Billy Ray Sprayberry (Sandra). He was “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren, Allison Keely Willis (Matt), Emily Ann Gonzalez (Sam), Michael Bowen, Jerry Hilderbrand, Jacob Hilderbrand (Lana), and Joshua Hilderbrand (Amie); great-grandchildren, Silas Bowen, Brantley Gamel, Annistyn Gamel Lorelai Gonzalez, Elle Hilderbrand, Eli Hilderbrand, Elias Walters, Carter Hilderbrand, Cole Hilderbrand and Landon Vines.

Bobby's presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave and the stories his family continues to tell will keep his memory alive forever. Cremation options have been chosen, and the family will gather for a private memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home and Crematory in Rockmart.
