Bro. James Anthony Osborn, age 75, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Thursday evening, January 22, 2026.
Bro. Osborn was born in Cedartown on September 4, 1950, a son of the late James Albert Osborn and Lucille Swafford Osborn. He had lived the greater part of his life in Cedartown and retired from United Parcel Service after 24 years of dedicated service. Bro. Anthony faithfully served the Lord as a minister, pastoring Live Oak Baptist Church for 18 years. He found joy in classic cars and cherished the quiet moments spent on the hill in his office, a place of reflection and prayer. Above all, Bro. Osborn truly loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived his life in service to Him and to others.
In addition to his parents, Bro. Osborn was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Osborn.
Bro. Osborn is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Elaine Mitchell Osborn, whom he married on January 27, 1973; two sons, Brent (Lisa) Osborn, and Kevin Osborn; five grandchildren, Payton (Brittany) Osborn, Cameron Osborn, Kensley Redding, Kaylee Redding, and Makenna Redding; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Osborn and Lyliah Osborn; sister-in-law, Tina (Robby) Steele; niece, Bianca Steele.
Funeral services for Bro. Anthony will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swafford and Rev. Billy Swift officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery in Cedartown with Rev. Jerry Womack and Bro. Tony Swafford conducting graveside rites.
Bro. Osborn’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
