Cecil Garland Haney

Mr. Garland Haney, age 69, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on February 13, 1946 a son of James Walter Haney and Gertrude Hulsey Haney. Mr. Haney had lived all of his life in Rockmart and retired from the Ford Motor Company , Hapeville assembly plant following thirty five years of service. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leigh Ann Haney Abernathy in 2003.

He is survived by a daughter, Sharon McGatha, Rockmart and a son, Jay Haney and wife Wendy, Yorkville; grandchildren: Joshua Haney, Lindsay Haney and Dalton McGatha; two brothers: Lamar Haney and Mark Haney and a sister, Ann Wright; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. James Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
