Cecil "Pops" Summerville

Mr. Cecil "Pops" Summerville, age 68, of Rockmart passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 in a Bremen health care center following a five month illness.

Cecil was born in Rockmart on January 26, 1949 a son of Chalmas Summerville and Frankie Weaver Summerville. He had lived most of his life in the Haralson and Polk county area. He was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church and a former employee of Bruce Albea Construction. Cecil's hobbies included hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, James Leon (Joe) Summerville and a sister, Lucy Jean Carter.

Survivors include his daughter, Cicely Summerville, Rockmart; mother, Frankie Crawford, Bremen; granddaughter, Ann Marie Summerville; brothers: Jimmy (Sarah) Summerville, Bremen, Doug (Lynn) Summerville, Rockmart and Wayne (Vera) Summerville, Cedartown; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 pm until the service hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
