Charles "Charlie" Ray Wheeler

October 20, 1977 — August 12, 2025

Charles “Charlie” Ray Wheeler, age 47, of Ten Mile, Tennessee, passed away on August 12, 2025. Born October 20, 1977, in Tacoma, Washington, Charlie grew up in Cabot, Arkansas, where his heart for family, faith, and adventure first began to shine.

Charlie was a man of many experiences through his various employment opportunities, always bringing dedication and heart to whatever role he held. Most recently, he worked as a truck driver, navigating the open road with the same quiet strength and determination he carried through all aspects of his life.

More than his work, Charlie was defined by his love of family. He is survived by his mother, Martha Wheeler; his beloved girlfriend, Misti Ayers; his children, Ava (Spencer Earwood) Wheeler, Mitchell (Makayla) Wheeler, and Larissa Peppers; his grandchildren, Kylee Welborn and Weston Clifford; and his siblings, Sondra (Michael) Gault, Michale (Robin) Wheeler, Teresa (Toby) Woods, Shawn (Kaylene) Orr, and Tonya Finnie. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Wheeler.

Charlie’s greatest joys were simple and true—riding motorcycles, kayaking, hiking, and camping with the people he loved most. His happiest days were marked by the births of his children, and an especially sacred day came on August 6, 2017, when he and his daughter, Ava, gave their lives to God and were baptized together in the waters of Chickamauga Lake through Stuart Heights Baptist Church.

To those who knew him, Charlie was a man of family first, laughter always, and faith forever. He was quick to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or share a story that could lift the heaviest spirit. His laugh—genuine, booming, and healing—was a gift to all who heard it.

“Charles was a strong believer in right and wrong. He loved his family and his country and never made excuses about either. He will forever be missed on this earth, but with all of the lives he touched, he will never be forgotten. Until we ride again.”

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others.” — Matthew 7:1–2 (NLT)
