Mrs. Charlotte Worley Underwood, age 86, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Underwood was born in Dry Fork, VA, on December 19, 1939, the daughter of the late Willie Worley, Sr. and Annie Crane Worley. She spent her childhood years in Virginia, where she developed a compassionate spirit and a lifelong appreciation for faith, family, and service to others.

A dedicated Registered Nurse, Mrs. Underwood devoted her career to caring for those in need. She began her nursing journey in Greensboro, NC, and faithfully served others until her retirement in 2003 from Inner Harbour Youth Villages. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for people left a lasting impact on countless lives.

After moving to Rockmart in 1999, Mrs. Underwood became an active member of Rockmart First Methodist Church. She treasured her church family and enjoyed participating in the Mattie Fambrough Circle, as well as attending the church’s art classes. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her in all that she did.

Mrs. Underwood had a deep appreciation for beauty and creativity. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist whose talent brought joy to many. She was also active in several charitable organizations, reflecting her generous heart and desire to help others. Whether tending to her garden, enjoying the wonders of nature, or spending time with those she loved, she found happiness in life’s simple blessings.

Above all, Mrs. Underwood will be remembered as a caring and gracious woman whose love for the Lord and her family was unwavering. Her gentle spirit, servant’s heart, and enduring faith leave a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Worley, Carroll Worley, and Willie Worley, Jr., and by sisters, Martha Neal and Dean Shelton.

Mrs. Underwood is survived by her husband of 59 years, Vaden Underwood; son, Chris Underwood (Tammy); grandson, Brooks Underwood (Casey); sisters, Flora Gregson, Ina Carter, and Narvie Williamson (Joe). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Underwood will be held on Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Rockmart First Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Blackmon officiating.

Mrs. Underwood’s family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
