Born in Cedartown, GA, on November 29, 1956, Connie was the daughter of the late Sara Carter Queen. She made her home in Rockmart, where she devoted 29 years of her life to the Polk School District as a caring and dedicated paraprofessional.

More than anything, Connie cherished time spent with her family and friends. She found peace and happiness visiting the Smoky Mountains and loved collecting all things “Grinch” and “Jack Skellington,” symbols of her playful and vibrant personality.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Queen.
Connie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steve Woods, to whom she married on April 8, 1978; her daughter, Nonnie Woods; brother, Wayne Queen (Polly); sisters, Jeanette Steele, Glenda Gable, and Marie Cain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
