Cora Virginia "Jenny" Phillips

Mrs. Cora Virginia “Jenny” Phillips, age 83, of Dallas, GA, passed away Thursday evening, April 17, 2025.

Jenny was born in Mine Run, VA, on September 6, 1941. She lived the greater part of her life in Trussville, AL, and was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Irondale, AL. Jenny was a CNA, working for Kirkwood by the River Nursing Home for over 30 years. She had lived the past 9 years in Georgia and loved taking care of others. Jenny enjoyed drawing, art, singing, and gardening. She had a love for nature and her flowers and horses.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Phillips, mother, Alice M. Lee, father and step-mother, Jack and Beulah Lee, son, James Edward Phillips, grandson, James Robert Phillips, great-granddaughter, Alora Rose Sell, and sisters, Edna Worley and Georgia White.

Jenny is survived by her children, Jenny (Keith) Borders, Jack (Lan) Phillips, and Janice (Barry) Borders; sisters, Ramona Jett, Betty Gantley, and Brenda Yates; brothers, Sam Lee and Sidney Lee. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Jenny will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Melton Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Sulphur Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Trussville.

Jenny’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Joshua Borders, David Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Logan Sanchez, Jared Sanchez, Geoff Goodreau and James McNutt.
