Mr. Danny Williams Bowman, age 69, Locust Grove, GA and formerly Rockmart passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026.

Danny was born in Rome, GA, on September 24, 1957, a son of the late Claude Bowman and Emmie Ruth Jones Bowman. He had lived most of his life in Polk County before moving to Locust Grove four years ago. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and had a deep love for Gospel music. Throughout the years, Danny wrote many Gospel songs, sharing his love of music with others. He retired from Eby-Brown after many years of dedicated service as a truck driver. Danny loved his family dearly, never met a stranger, and was always ready to share one of his famous “Danny jokes.” His warm personality, quick wit, and love for others made him a joy to be around and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Hames; niece, and several nephews.

Danny is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Bowman, to whom he married on April 3, 1978; 3 children, Brett Bowman, Jon Bowman, and Kimberly Bowman; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Bowman (Tiffany), Shyann Bowman, Timothy Garner, and Abigail Garner; 4 great-granddaughters, Olivia Bowman, Layla Bowman, Elizabeth Bowman, and Hallie Garner; brother, Ronald Bowman; 2 sisters, Glenda Bryan (Al) and Judy Barnes (Allen); brother-in-law, Wayne Hames; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Bowman will be held Friday, October 30, 2026 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Thaxton and Rev. Cliff Cook officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, October 29, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
