David Eugene Anderson, Sr., age 70, was born July 11, 1956, in Marietta, GA, the son of the late Rev. Charles E. Anderson and the late Mary Lue Jones Anderson.

David proudly served in the United States Army for over 18 years. He worked at Engineered Fabrics from 1974 to 1994 and lived most of his life in Polk County, Georgia, where he became known and loved by many.

David never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking with family and friends, sharing stories, and reminiscing about fond memories. He had a deep love for country music and the mountains and never turned down an opportunity to travel to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg or attend a country music concert. These were among the moments he cherished most.

David was a devoted father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was also a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Ann White and Mary Jean Johnson, and his niece, Kristy Charlene Ferguson.

David is survived by his daughters, Amanda Robinson (Sonny) and Cherri Lynn Anderson, and his son, David Anderson (Tara); his grandchildren, Dillan (Amber), Keslyn, Kaydence, Alyx, Caleb, Christopher, and Kaylee; and his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Braylie, and Scottie.

He is also survived by his brothers, Charles Anderson and Jimmy Anderson; his sister, Diane Tuschl; and his special friend, Bonnie Buffington Ezell.

David will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family, his stories and laughter, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral services for David will be held on Thursday afternoon, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens. Military graveside rites will be delivered by the honor guard from Brown-Wright Post 12 of the American Legion.

David’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, September 30, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Dillan Anderson, Bill Anderson, Jamie Anderson, Daniel Johnson, Adam Johnson, and Paul Hughes. Brantley Anderson will serve as honorary pallbearer.
