Mr. David Lee Cummings, age 90, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday evening, April 25, 2026. He was born in Rockmart on December 23, 1935, a son of the late David Lawrence Cummings and Cloreathe Lee Cummings.

Lee played football at each college he attended and service football while in the Army. He was most proud of being a UGA DAWG alumnus and playing in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Day 1960, which the DAWGS won. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly loving bird hunting and fishing. He served on the Hospital Authority Board for the Rockmart Aragon Hospital, Polk General Hospital and Atrium Health Polk Medical Center. Lee was affectionately known as Baby Brother, Uncle Lee, Lee Boy, Beau, Country Lee, and later Old Boy to his nephews. He had many friends far and wide who could undoubtedly tell a story or two about his many escapades. Lee hitchhiked across the country several times and enjoyed traveling the West with his nephews and family. He loved his family and friends dearly and never forgot a person he met.
