Deborah Elaine "Debbie" Thompson

Ms. Deborah Elaine “Debbie” Thompson, age 75, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Ms. Debbie Thompson, born on January 21, 1950, was the daughter of the late William Buren Thompson and Martha Janet Pugh Thompson. Debbie made her home in Rockmart, GA, where she lived for the majority of her life. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an auditor with Bank of America before retiring. A devoted member of First Baptist Church, Debbie found great joy in her faith community and especially cherished her time singing in the church choir.

Debbie is survived by sisters, June (Glenn) Sorrells and Lisa Thompson, nieces and nephews Trey (Danielle) Sorrells, Heather (Carl) Owens, Holly (Kenny) Sargent, Kelly (Katie) Sorrells, and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ms. Thompson will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. David Taylor officiating. Internment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Reece Owens, Carl Owens, Glenn Sorrells, Kenny Sargent, Trey Sorrells.
