Mrs. Debra Sue Daniel, age 66, of Stevenson, AL, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Chattanooga, TN.
Debra was born in Summerville, GA, on September 26, 1959, daughter of the late J.W. “Bill” James and Katherine James. She was a loving wife, devoted housewife and homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Debra found happiness in life’s simple pleasures such as riding motorcycles with her husband and taking her great-grandchildren to Chattanooga to see trains. She enjoyed shopping at Ross and spending time with family. Debra leaves behind a legacy of a “Maw Maw” with unwavering love, family traditions, laughter and homemade meals.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Williams, Glennie James, Harvey and Hattie Fincher, and siblings, Kathy Darlene James, Roy “Bubba” James, Billy Joe James, and Michael James.
Debra is survived by her husband, Frankie Daniel; son, Jessie Daniel; grandchildren, Aaron Daniel, Evan Daniel, Dayton Williams, Kaitlin Wooten (Benji), Anslee Stringer (Joshua), Shelby Jarrell (Trever), and Olivia Jarrell; great-grandchildren, Rayland McCoy, Aubrey Mobley, Maddox Daniel, and Evelyn Daniel; sisters, Patricia Gail Daniel (James Robert), and Sherry Jarrell (Tony).
Funeral services for Debra will be held on Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Redding officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Debra’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, June 23, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Aaron Daniel, Evan Daniel, Dayton Williams, Riley Daniel, Joshua Cole and Kenney Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will include Jason Daniel, Lamar Jarrell, and Bruce Colston.
