Dixie Randall (Randy) Dabbs

Mr. Randy Dabbs, age 57, of 31 Prospect Road, Rockmart passed away Tuesday, January 29th. at his residence following a brief illness.


Randy was born in Polk County on December 8, 1950 a son of the late Marvin and Ida Dabbs. He had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he was a graduate of Rockmart High School, class of 1968. While at RHS he played football, baseball, basketball and was on the track team. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam and Thailand as a Medic. Randy had attended Morning View Baptist Church and the Rockmart United Methodist Church.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances McRae Dabbs, Rockmart; one daughter, Ms Kasey Cynthia Dabbs, Temple, GA; one step daughter, Ms Leslie Collum, Rockmart; one step son, Mr. Justin Collum, Rockmart; three brothers: Mr. Nolan Dabbs, Rockmart, Mr. Marvin Dabbs, Pflugerville, TX and Mr. Jerry Dabbs, Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services were held Thursday, January 31st. at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Dabbs officiating.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
