Mr. Donald Owen “Donnie” Grow, Jr., age 56, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Friday morning, June 27, 2025, at his residence.
Donnie was born in Atlanta, GA, on May 13, 1969, son of Dorothy Sue Thomason Grow and the late Donald Owen Grow, Sr. He had lived the greater part of his life in Aragon, GA and was of the Baptist faith. Donnie work for Kellanova Bakery in Rome and was an avid baseball card collector. He was a devoted University of Georgia football fan, enjoyed playing golf and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Donnie was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Presley, and grandparents, J.W. and Jean Thomason.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Pamela Sisson Grow, whom he married on March 28, 2025; son, Nicholas (Kelsey) Harrell; daughter, Courtney Garner; grandchildren, Madison (Landon) Garner, Breagan Garner, Kaiden Agan, Kinnleigh Harrell, and Kaylen Harrell; mother and father, Dot and David Maxwell; sister, Mary Alice Grow; brother, Anthony Phillip Grow. Several nieces and nephews along with a special aunt, Peggy White, two special uncles, Phil Thomason and Johnny Thomason, and a very dear friend, Harold Hanson, also survive.
Funeral services for Donnie will be held on Monday afternoon, June 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Phil Thomason and Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Donnie will be carried to his residence, 210 Plantation Avenue, Cedartown, GA, on Saturday where his family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Donnie will remain at his residence until Monday at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will include Harold Hanson, Chris Whatley, Ricky Thomas, Heath Watkins, Earnie Watson, and Eric Watson. Honorary pallbearers will include Grayson Watson and Kaiden Agan.
