Mrs. Doris Laraine Fennell Freeman, age 80, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026.

Doris was born in Yorkville, GA, on December 29, 1945, a daughter of the late Samuel Clifton Fennell and the late Gracie Elizabeth Holley Fennell. She spent the greater part of her life in Rockmart, where she was a lifelong member of Springdale Baptist Church. Doris enjoyed walking outdoors and cherished the time she spent with her family.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. S.C. Fennell (Katie), James Fennell, Rev. Andy Fennell, Ira Eugene "Gene" Fennell (Barbara), and Rev. Ernest Fennell (Gerldine); her sisters, Ruby Alexander (Norris), Mildred Weaver (Ray), Louise Forsyth (Bill), and Vylee Chandler (Walt); and her grandson, Leonard Paul Brock.

Doris is survived by her children, Darlene Holder, Wade Brock (Samantha), Amy Austin, Hope Cato (Chad), and Stevie Brock, her grandchildren, Eric (Christina), Josh, Eddie, Jennifer (Ryan), Cortney Laraine, D.J. (Nikki), Jonathan (Sarah), Tammie (Dustin), Shane Paul (B.J.), and Randy; and her great-grandchildren, Adyn, E.J., Layla-Rae, Abby, Gracie, McKinley, Gavin, Logan, Mason, and Olivia; her brother, Junior Fennell, and sisters-in-law, Katie Fennell, and Jean Fennell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Doris will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Springdale Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in Springdale Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Pallbearers will include grandchildren Tammie Gray, Cortney Brock, D.J. Brock, Shane Paul Lollis, Eric Deems, and Eddie Deems. Honorary pallbearers will include grandchildren Josh, Randy, Jonathan, and Jennifer.
