Mrs. Doris Francis Fuqua, age 97, passed away on October 12, 2026. Mrs. Fuqua was born in Bartow County, Georgia on July 22, 1929, to Thad and Pearl Hames Waters.

Mrs. Fuqua was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and a member of Morning View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fuqua was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene “Jim” Fuqua, whom she married in 1953. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Fuqua, Evelyn Wolfe, and Betty Sherman, and three brothers, Carl, Herbie and Jackie.

Mrs. Fuqua is survived by her son, Donald (Judy); three grandchildren, Brent (Kristi), Kiel (Nadia) and Lee (Robbie); and five great-grandchildren, Andy, Jessie, Stella, Allie and Ava. She is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Robinson and Patti Thomas (Dennis), as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mrs. Fuqua will be held in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
