Mrs. Doris Ruth Welchel, age 88, formerly of Clearwater Street Rockmart passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 in a Cedartown Health Care Center.
She was born in Palmetto, GA on June 20, 1926 a daughter of the late Cleve Hooper and Newell Brown Hooper. Mrs. Welchel had lived all of her life in Polk County. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Welchel on April 7, 2010 and by two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. June Coalson, Rockmart and thirteen nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 12:00 noon from the graveside of Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. John Hooper officiating.
The family will received friends Tuesday morning at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time to depart for the graveside service.
The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Doris Ruth Welchel.
