Dorothy "Dot" Wheeler

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Hayes Wheeler, age 81, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on March 5, 1934 a daughter of the late Luther Hayes and Annie Ratteree Hayes. Mrs. Wheeler had lived all of her life in Rockmart ; was a member of the Second Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Engineered Fabrics. She was preceded in death by brothers: Homer Lee Hayes, Marcell "Shorty" Hayes and Grady Hayes; and a sister, Dollie Hayes Thaxton.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Wheeler to whom she was married on March 10, 1988; daughter, Judy Fuqua and husband Don of Burnsville,North Carolina; son, Keith Lindsey and wife Marcia of Rockmart; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
