Edna L. Coker Welch

Mrs. Edna L. Coker Welch was born in Rockmart, GA October 28, 1938 and passed away peacefully on March 24, 2012.

Mrs. Welch is predeceased by her husband, Carl E. Welch, sisters: Mildred Carter, Jean Marler, Mary Ella Leahey and Diane Vice; brother, Dennis Coker and her parents Pete Coker and Margie Kiker.

Mrs. Welch is a retired employee of Clorox Company, Cartersville, GA and a past member of The Order of Eastern Star # 321, Rockmart, GA.

Mrs. Welch is survived by four children: Drs? Peggy and David Byck, Savannah, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Joel (Shelia) Oliver, Mr. Robert Oliver of Rockmart, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Hooper (Pamella) of Dallas, GA, six grandchildren: Amanda, Jessica and Elle Byck, Keesha Argo, Justin Oliver and J.C. Hooper; three great grandchildren: Albrey and Alexia Argo and Anna Beth Whatley; two sisters: Sue Gill, Lexington, KY and Mary Ann Cantrell, Dallas, GA; one brother, Sammy Coker (Deena), Weaver, AL; brother in law, Andy Anderson, Millbrook, AL; sister in law, Clara St. John, Pell City, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Welch will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Polk Memory Gardens with Rev. Danny Roberson officiating. Ms. Sue Gill will write a eulogy and Joe Hooper will read the eulogy. Mr. Glen Hooper will provide acoustic music for the service.

The following nephews will serve as pallbearers: Lonnie Coker, Donnie Coker, Daniel Vice, Leslie Johnson, Michael Doran and Billy Givens.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
