Mr. Edward Junior Fennell, age 89, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, October 16, 2026 at his residence.

Mr. Fennell was born in Lumberton, Mississippi, on September 28, 1937, a son of the late Samuel Clifton Fennell and Gracie Elizabeth Holley Fennell. He spent the greater part of his life in Rockmart, where he was a devoted member and deacon of Springdale Baptist Church.

Junior retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. He was also the owner and operator of Fennell Cabinet Shop, where he put his skills and craftsmanship to work building many houses over the years. He had a love for restoring old cars, enjoyed camping, and had a special fondness for animals. Junior was also a proud 50 year member of Rockmart Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Camp Fennell; son-in-law, Buster Akins; brothers, Rev. S.C. Fennell, Eugene Fennell, James Fennell, Rev. Andy Fennell, and Earnest Fennell; sisters, Mildred Weaver, Louise Forsyth, Vylee Chandler, Ruby Alexander, and Doris Freeman.

Survivors include his children, Susan Akins, Wayne Fennell (Michelle), and Larry Fennell (Michelle); grandchildren, Andrea Crews, Heather Graham, Amber Edwards (Zack), Courtney Ingram (Ty), Kevin Elsberry, Josh Elsberry (Lindsey), and Peyton Elsberry; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 2 sisters-in-law, Katie Fennell and Jean Fennell; brother-in-law, Joe Camp (Diane); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Fennell will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 4:00 pm at Springdale Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Leggett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites. Mr. Fennell will lie instate at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until the service hour.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 19, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Wade Brock, Donald Anderson, Ty Ingram, Zack Edwards, Hayden Gibson, and Jamey Crews. Honorary pallbearers will include Cooper Wilson, Kevin Elsberry, Joshua Elsberry, and Payton Elsberry.
