Elmer Burton Gentry

Mr. Elmer Burton Gentry, age 78, of Rockmart passed away Thursday November 21, 2013 following an illness of several months.

He was born in Taylorsville, GA on December 17, 1934 a son of the late Stanley Gentry and Louise Welchel Gentry. Mr. Gentry had lived the greater part of his life in the Bartow and Polk county area. He was a former truck driver and mechanic.

He was preceded in death by two sons: Larry Gentry, Sr. and Kenneth Gentry and by four brothers: Eldon, Harold, Howard and Jessie Gentry.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Gentry, Cartersville; a son, Calvin Gentry, Ft. Worth, TX; a sister Myrtice Robinson, Aragon and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery with Dean Robinson and Phil Gentry officiating.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
