Esther Penelope "Penny" Harrington

Mrs. Esther Penelope “Penny” Harrington, age 71, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, November 10, 2025.

Penny was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Ruby Curls. She spent most of her life in Rockmart. Penny’s family was the center of her world, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very creative person who enjoyed painting, crafting, cooking, canning, fishing, and yard selling. Penny was also a collector of many things and a true lover of animals.

In addition to her mother, She was preceded in death by her first husband, Weldon Patterson; sisters; and brother.

Penny is survived by her husband, Michael Harrington, to whom she married on March 5, 1993; children, Lynn (David), Jeff (Ashley), Debbie (Chris), Alicia (Chase B.), and Chase; grandchildren, Mickey, Ashlee (Tyler), Nicole (Dakota), Cason, Daniel (Ashley), Rachael, Elizabeth, Tink (Savannah), Gage, Raven (Jeremiah), Jeffery, Alyssa, Alivia, Christopher, Lexi, and Eli; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Landon, Sophie, Declan, Lainey, and Paris.

Funeral services for Penny will be held Thursday November 13, 2025 at 4:00 pm in the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Jack Goss and Pastor Henry White officiating. Eulogies will be given by her son, Chase Harrington and granddaughter, Raven Patterson. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour at the church.

Pallbearers will include Cason Patterson, Daniel Patterson, Tink Patterson, Gage Benefield, Tyler Little, Dakota Gibbs, Chase Benefield, and Jeffery Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will include Christopher Creselious, Landon Little, Rylan Gibbs, Declan Gibbs, Eli Benefield, and Mickey Patterson.
