Evelyn Adams

Mrs. Evelyn Jeanette Adams, age 83, of Rome, GA passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019.

She was born in Trion, GA on February 10, 1936 a daughter of the late John H. Tinney and the late Lena McDonald Tinney. Mrs. Adams had spent the greater part of her life in Dallas, GA and was a graduate of Dallas High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railway where she worked in accounting. Mrs. Adams loved gardening, cooking and reading.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Tinney and by a grandchild, Haley Cunningham.

Survivors include three daughters: Jil McClung, Villa Rica, Jeri Purdy, Rockmart and Jan Smith, Cartersville; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a sister, Ellen Fiincher, Dallas.

In keeping with the family wishes, Mrs. Adams will be cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
