Mrs. Evelyn Tillery, age 95, of Aragon, GA, passed away Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Tillery was born in Eatonton, GA, on January 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Clarence Thompson and Audrey Irene Jones Thompson. She had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County, where she was a longtime member of Piedmont Baptist Church and was known as a devoted prayer warrior whose faith was an important part of her life.

Mrs. Tillery retired from Goodyear Mill after 30 years of dedicated service. In her later years, she found great joy in the simple things that made her home special. She loved being outdoors and spending time tending to the flowers in her garden, taking pride in watching them bloom. She was also a wonderful cook and loved nothing more than preparing a good meal and welcoming others into her home. Her door was always open, and she enjoyed entertaining guests and making everyone who visited feel loved and at home.

Mrs. Tillery will be remembered for her strong faith, generous heart, warm hospitality, and the love she so freely shared with those around her. Her home, her garden, and especially the memories she created there will remain treasured by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tillery was preceded in death by her husband, James Irvin Tillery, whom she married July 22, 1946. Also preceding her was two daughters, Linda Fuqua and Kathy Blalock, two sons, Richard Anthony Tillery and Randy Allen Tillery, and a brother, Marvin Thompson.

Mrs. Tillery is survived by two daughters, Gloria Seabolt and Beverly Hughes, and a son, Larry Tillery.

In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Tillery will be cremated, and a Memorial Gathering will be announced at a later date.
