Evelyn Wolfe

August 2, 1933 — July 20, 2020

Mrs. Evelyn Wolfe, age 86, of Rome, GA and formerly of Aragon, GA passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Bartow County, GA on August 1, 1933 a daughter of the late Thad Waters and the late Pearl Hames Waters. Mrs. Wolfe had lived the greater part of her life in Aragon where she was a member of the Aragon United Methodist Church. She and her husband Paul owned and operated Wolfe's Grocery in Aragon for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wolfe on June 4, 2011 to whom she was married on March 4, 1955; five brothers: Hubert, James, Carl, Glen and Herbert Waters and by two sisters: Gladys Johnson and Betty Sherman.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Mathis, Rome, son, Keith Wolfe (Maureen), Clearwater, FL, four grandchildren: Jeremy Wolfe (Laura), Mandi Martinson (Jacob), Thad Mathis (Audrey) and Sam Mathis (Katie); two great grandchildren and an adopted grandson, Colby Morris; three sisters: Doris Fuqua, Mildred Robinson and Patti Thomas all of Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Private funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Michael Waters, Randy Robinson, Joel Waters, Donald Fuqua, Luke Robinson and Colby Morris.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Atlanta, GA 30346 in Mrs. Wolfe's memory.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Evelyn Wolfe.
