Mr. Forrest “Bo” Hamilton, age 87, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Mr. Hamilton was born on July 6, 1938, in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Robert Andrew Hamilton, Sr. and the late Ada Gertrude Dalton Hamilton. In May 2000, Bo relocated to Polk County from Cobb County, where he quickly became a beloved member of the community.
A faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, Bo lived a life of dedication and service. He officiated high school sports for thirty years and proudly served on the chain crew for the Atlanta Falcons for thirty-three years. Professionally, he retired from Bell South after thirty-three years of service.
Bo was known for his love of golf, his passion for maintaining a tidy lawn, and his unwavering support of Georgia Tech. In his later years, he was a familiar and friendly face at the Polk County convenience center, where he worked for twelve years.
Bo’s life was marked by his commitment to family, faith, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Hamilton, Charlie Hamilton, and Jesse Hamilton.
Bo is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Patsy “Pat” Morris Hamilton; son, William Andy (Jane) Hamilton; daughter, Lori Suzanne (Doug) Guffey; five grandchildren, Yvonne Woods, Jeremy Hamilton, Justin (Emily) Hamilton, Davis Benson, and Jake Guffey; three great-grandchildren, Grace Hamilton, Waylan Hamilton, and Kady Jane Hamilton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Hamilton will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating and Justin Hamilton delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy SE, Mableton, GA 30126.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at Victory Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will include Justin Hamilton, Davis Benson, Jeremy Hamilton, Bobby Helms, Jeff Morgan, and Brad Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Victory Baptist Church food pantry in memory of Mr. Hamilton.
