Frances Leatherwood Estes

Mrs. Frances Leatherwood Estes, age 74, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in Aragon, GA on June 28, 1945, a daughter of the late Leonard Leatherwood and the late Lillian Cole Leatherwood. Mrs. Estes had lived all of her life in Rockmart where she attended Rockmart High School. She was a member and past Sunday School Teacher at Morning View Baptist Church. Frances enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing and had a great love for her family. She was retired from Polk School District where she served as assistant manager of the lunchroom at Eastside Elementary School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward (C.E.) Estes on October 18, 2019; and a great-granddaughter, Lakelyn Camp.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Bennett and her husband, Kent, Rockmart; son, Shane Estes and his wife, Leslie, Rockmart; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Matt) Goddard, Charlie D. Estes, Callie Bennett, Whitney (Bull) Fuqua, Emily (J.T.) Camp, Zach (Brittany) Estes, Payden Bennett and Tiffany (Daniel) Helton; nine great-grandchildren: Ansley, Brantley, Kaiylee, Hayden, Adyleigh, Brendan, Lilly, Dallas and Lawson; two brothers: Jimmy Leatherwood, AL and Charles Leatherwood, Rockmart; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In keeping with local, state and federal guidelines graveside funeral and interment services will be private on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jeff Hulsey and Rev. Robert Wright officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Matt Goddard, Zach Estes, Payden Bennett, Daniel Helton, Bull Fuqua and J.T. Camp. Honorary pallbearers will include her great grandsons: Brantley Hayden, Brendan and Lawson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the residence, 600 Pine Road, Rockmart, GA 30153.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Frances Leatherwood Estes.
