Gary Monroe Smith, Jr.

Gary Monroe Smith, Jr., age 50, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Wednesday evening, November 20, 2024.

Gary was born in Louisa, Ky, son of Gary Monroe Smith, Sr., and Debra Cook Earl. He had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart and was a warehouse supervisor with Miura Boiler. Gary enjoyed writing books, reading, woodworking, and cooking. He loved his family and cherished the time he got to spend with them. Gary was super-excited about becoming a granddaddy.

Gary is survived by his wife, Brandy Williams Smith, whom he married February 12, 2010; daughters, Tiffany Staneford, Cheyanne Cornwell, and KJ Cornwell; grandson, Ryder James Mullis; mother, Debra Earl; father, Gary Smith. Four brothers and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service for Gary will be held on Sunday evening, November 24, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Keith Streetman officiating. 

Gary’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour.
