Obituary

Mrs. Glenda Sue Head, age 85, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2026.

Mrs. Head was born in Aragon, GA, on October 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Lloyd George Morgan and Floy T. Motes Morgan. She had made her home in Rockmart for the greater part of her life and was a longtime member of Rockmart First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served for several years as a custodian.

Mrs. Head found joy in the simple things that made life special. She loved searching through her cookbooks for new recipes and preparing delicious meals for her family. She also enjoyed spending time on the telephone, sharing long conversations and laughter with friends. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every opportunity to be together with those she loved and created many cherished memories through the years. Her warmth, devotion, and love for her family will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glenn Head, whom she married August 20, 1960. A great-grandson, Braxton Colt Thompson, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Head is survived by her daughter, Missy Barrett (Sammy); grandson, Cody Barrett (Stephanie); granddaughter, Victoria Thompson (Dalton); great-grandson, Samuel Glen Thompson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Head will be held on Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Head’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Saturday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Dalton Thompson, Cody Barrett, Mark Martin, and Gary Mears.
