Mrs. Glenda Bannister Langley, age 81, of Rome, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, July 16, 2025.
Glenda was born on January 6, 1944, in Aragon, Georgia, to the late Hezzie Bannister and Annie Mae Perkins Bannister. She lived in Charleston, SC, for over 30 years before returning to Georgia in 2009. During her time in Charleston, she worked as an accounting clerk and property manager with Varn Realty. Glenda was a devoted member of Lakeview Baptist Church and an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with her family, especially taking the kids to ball games and band competitions.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Doris Roberson, Josephine Anderson, Phyllis Jones, Patricia Bannister, and Bobby Bannister.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Grady Ray Langley, whom she married November 21, 1959; one daughter, Tiffany McNutt (Jason); sons, Steven Langley (Robert Watts), and James Langley (Helen Sisk-Langley); grandchildren, Brandon Langley, Brittney Langley, Brooke York, Brandy White, and Brian White. Twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Services for Glenda will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Eddy Hughes officiating. Glenda will be carried to Georgia National Cemetery where her cremains will be placed in a niche there.
Glenda’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
