Mr. Glenn Hightower, age 90, of Cartersville, GA, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026.
Mr. Hightower was born in Gordon County, GA, on July 9, 1935, son of the late Herman Hightower and Ileen Ballew Hightower. He attended Cass High School, Berry College and University of Alabama. Mr. Hightower lived the greater part of his life in Polk County, GA, and had been a member of Cedartown First Baptist Church, then Bellview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Later in life, he attended Antioch Baptist Church and after moving to Florida, he attended Freeport Baptist Church. Mr. Hightower was active in the Cedartown Kiwanis Club and the Polk County Gideons Society for many years. Prior to retirement, he served as plant manager with Goodyear for many years, having worked in both Cedartown and Rockmart.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hightower was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Montgomery Hightower, and a brother, Doyal Hightower.
Mr. Hightower is survived by two daughters, Glenda Flatley (Shaun), and Linda Casey (Shawn); one son, Lee Hightower (Tamara). Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside and interment services for Mr. Hightower will be held on Monday morning, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Dabbs officiating.
Pallbearers will include Shawn Casey, Shaun Flatley, Ryan Flatley, Alex Hightower, Emmett Hightower, and Cody Hightower.
